September Image - "VLA"
How I did it - Taken at the Radio telescope site west of Soccorro NM. Clearing storm in the background adds contrast. Cropped, duplicate layer, multiplied and a slight levels adjustment.

| John Larson | I like the leading lines aspect of the image. I agree with Ken that some way of showing scale would give the image more impact. I also looked up VLA and was astounded by the size (each antenna 230 tons, WOW). |
| Ken Johnson | Very interesting photo. It caused me to search for more information which I found at http://www.vla.nrao.edu/. I like the high contrast and almost black sky while maintaining detail in the white dishes. It almost looks like it could be on another planet. It would be nice to have a reference giving the photo a sense of scale. I’m sure these antennas must be huge. |
